They usually get up at 6:30am on weekdays so they can make their beds, clean up, eat breakfast, do chores, and have time for morning meditation before we begin school.
On the weekends we let them sleep in though and Midnight seems to think that we have forgotten the routine. Or forgotten the children!
We will have to do something to prevent this. Maybe crating her on weekend nights.
Midnight is a wonderful dog we adopted last year from our local animal shelter. She had been surrendered by a homeless man in town after giving birth to a litter of puppies.
All the puppies had already been adopted when we arrived and fell in love with her but she still had a strong mothering instinct and has since cared for every foster child we've had, even the teenagers. She also seems to want to mother our rabbits, orphaned kittens, and puppies.
However, she does NOT like other adult dogs.
A reaction we don't mind so much up here, as we expect we will need to run off random strays from attacking our livestock from time to time.
