More family time!
If you look at the picture here, it is hard to see that there is even a road there, but there is, it is under about three feet of water, maybe more. I wouldn't cross it if I had a tank right now.
We do have plans to do our usual weekly supply run on Monday but it can wait and this is a perfect teaching opportunity for the kids. Today we are learning about the water cycle.
We downloaded some free water-cycle worksheets and watched a video we found on amazon. The kids took samples from the creek and we created a little science experiment using zip lock bags to study condensation.
We talked about the dangers of floods and how powerful water can be, talked about flash flooding in deserts, and discussed sneaker waves at the beach.
All in all, I think it was a very educational day.
